Aux in / USB / Bluetooth adapters

Hi all,

I've been using my phone (Galaxy S6) to play music but the level from the headphone socket is way too low, nowhere near a true line out signal.

I've been looking at adapters and can see that there are Bluetooth ones for fairly cheap. I've found this Bluetooth receiver, but if possible I'd actually like a wired system too.

Does anyone know of any cheap USB to Aux solutions like the above. I've found USB DAC's, which is essentially the product required, but they all seem overkill for a car with a base stereo system. I don't need 24-bit 192Khz audio etc...

Essentially all I want is the same as the Bluetooth adapter, but using USB rather than Bluetooth.

So you want USB from device to Aux? What about this?

Plugs into the phone and one assumes it charges from USB and plays music via the 3.5mm.

Thanks for that.

I've looked at a few of these cables but the reviews seem very mixed.

I think the problem with that is that the phone would need to output line out over USB, similar to how I believe apple devices used to work with their proprietary connector. I have doubts as to whether my phone will output a line out signal through the USB port. If the signal is the same as the headphone port them I'm in the same situation as I am now. I may just have to gamble on a few cables.

No. Running CCC nav. Even if I did, it sounds like Samsung phones are pot luck when it comes to the USB audio side of things.

Sorry to kick in on your thread but if I have had a CIC retrofit carried our from previously having the CCC does the usb connector in the glove box which I use to put music on the hard drive have the same functionality? The only bits I have in the arm rest is a lighter charger and a AUX input so not sure if people who have a USB in the armrest has the same function as the cable I have in the glove box?

Thanks

Well the listing says:

"Charge your device and Play Music in your Vehicle
Suitable for any mobile phones with mini-usb connector type
Suitable for any vehicle with AUX and or USB Ports
Fits BMW, Ford, Volvo, Kia etc"

So if they're wrong you would be able to get it refunded?

I have a thread on here, but my favorite is the Himbox off Amazon. It's the only one that I could get to automatically connect every time I get in, all the others had to be reconnected every time.

Wouldn't the himbox Interfere with the Bluetooth capabilities of the car if it's an option on the model..ie from an incoming call would it answer through the system or the himbox?

Go to your Bluetooth settings, you can choose options on what connection controls what. User error, not the device.

No problem! Just go into the bluetooth menu and it will have all your different devices. Select the himbox, and only check "media". Go to bmw connection and make sure "phone" is selected.
