Certified Preowned but Service Issues?

For Christmas I was given a certified preowned 2010 BMW 328i x-drive. The car had one owner and no accidents reported and everything was inspected and cleared. But I have this light turn on and its says that I am in need of coolant and oil but when I checked, both were filled to the max line. Could anyone shed some light or explain if they experienced a similar problem? Thank you!

The picture you included is just dashboard menu, we can't see exact service request.
What does the oil level monitor in IDrive show?
Did you unscrew the coolant cap and it was leveled to "max"?
What is the list of things in IDrive submenu "service required"?

And are you certain that you aren't overdue for an oil change? You can check your oil level and recommended service mileage/time on the dash computer (see "service requirements" in your manual for instructions).

CPO does not equate to "we did all the service required for the next xxx miles/years". It only means that the car is in generally excellent shape.

Push the button on the end of the turn signal stalk to see what needs service.

This is part of the problem.

The car comes with an owners manual so you could read up on how to use the condition based service (CBS) system. You would also learn about the difference between service indications and low fluid level notifications. If the car didn't come with a an owners manual the BMW USA will have an electronic copy you can access and down load.

Also there is a search function you can use on this Forum.

If the car is CPO, then take it back to the dealership and ask them.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Wow, posts once and then doesn't come back to answer followup questions... Anyway, if you can't figure it out, just bring it by the dealership where it was purchased. Since you just got the car, I'm sure they'd be willing to at least look at the message for you gratis.
