Hardwire Radar Detector Escort Max360 for original look
I recently purchased Radar Detector Escort Max360, but before i even ordered it i knew i want to do something to hide all wires and extra buttons as i hate hate non original look.
For the purpose i bough Center console from the M3 as it has the 3 buttons on the side which i used to control the RD. At first i wanted to use one button for power on/off and the other two for mute, but later on i changed my mind as i never actually needed the RD off and i made all 3 to be Mute. This is what the circuit board of the buttons look like. This is the separate smartcord i bought and its circuit board. I found that a double USB from front of a computer case fits perfectly into the socket of the switch plug. I tested and marked each wire. Soldered it to the smartcord (except the wire for the ambient light, which i took from the ashtray light) This is the ambient light wire (white -/ blue +) I also took power from the plug powering the cigarette lighter. I pushed the wires into the plug and soldered them on. Not the best connection but part wont move at all once installed so it would do just fine. And soldered the power wires for the RD/cord And here is the test of the buttons (DSC light is dead and not working) Last edited by drevan; 01-21-2016 at 02:59 PM.. |
