Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood (GTR style)

Hi Guys,

Had a incident on the motorway over the weekend - unsecured load on a trailer came off and items hit the bonnet on the way down / front bumper

Basically my OEM hood will need to be replaced

Any reviews on the hood (quality / fitments etc)
What the deal with hood stuts/pins?

thanks!

We sold a few here and there. So far people have been pleased with no regrets.

Hood pins are for safety.

Most people don't run them but since the hood is light it can potentially catch air underneath and rip off. The risk is entirely up to you but as a supplier we have to recommend it.

Thanks Jeff - appreciate the feedback - I often do track days - so I think this will be a worthwhile investment to get

Good to hear ! - any pics of the final result?
I am a bit hesitant as I am all the way down in New Zealand - so having the hood shipped all the way down, don't want issues and having to return etc

I just book the GTR style hood on my car. Currently I have some fitment issues, the gaps song the sides are a bit bigger than I would like, and it doesn't seem to close fully in the front. I contacted Bimmian, the company I ordered it from, and they said my body shop guy should be able to reduce the issues (my body guy said the same as well from seeing pictures) so I'm hoping that's the case when it's finally done.

Visually though the piece is really nice, the weaves are nice, it's just a nice looking piece. PM if you have questions regarding it.

Unfortunately, we can only ship in US 48 states as it's considered large freight and ships on a truck.

I'm not sure how to ship international. We tried to ship once ot Puerto Rico and we were quoted $600+. Likely not worth it.

If you have a freight forwarded that will do it, by all means give it a shot but with such a long trip, I'd be worried about damages in transit.

The freight carrier we use inspects the package at delivery and requires inspection at delivery with signature of buyer that the contents is damage free.

Hi Jeff

I use a freight forwarder from NZ (mainfreight) that has a office in California for all my heavy items in the past I have ordered (wheels/tyres/etc)
they then seafreight to NZ - so the only bad thing is waiting like a month for goods to turn up

As 99% of all my aftermarket items have been bought in the US shipped to NZ and it's been trouble/hassle free - but will let them about the item and to mark it as fragile :P - plus items are insured
