FBO, crappy CA gas and what gains can i get going e30 on cobb???

Car is fbo and looking for a lil more gains. Just on stock cobb stage 2 + fmic drive tune on the crappy CA 91 gas. How much gains can I expect to get if i go e30 from mixxing some e85 on the cobb? Dont want to go higher since i would have to upgrade fuel system.

I use Cobb and have on my Subie's and my N54 so this is not a bash. The Cobb maps are conservative and much more can be had by using their ATR function, learning how to tune on some level and get the most out of whatever bolt ons you have. So, with that said, the E30 map is good but can be made much much batter. BTW, it runs a lot of timing up top (13 degrees) which is a little much for E30, IMHO.

I ran the Cobb e30 OTS map for awhile and felt it was very solid.. Definitely didn't maximize power like a custom map, but it made noticeable power that was consistent...give it a try..

A custom tune can be as aggressive as you want, the platform isn't relevant. That being said, yes you should get a custom tune.

Getting a custom tune for e30 would make your car feel like a new car again.

Mix some E30 and use the E30 map, gains are very noticeable

I sold my cobb, bought all the MHD licenses and a custom tune and put a couple hundred in my pocket. Everyone else looks to be doing the same. You should read up on it.

100% agree with him.

I no longer have the Cobb BUT when i did the tunes were nice but conservative. I will make a recommendation to you though.. If you can get a custom dyno tune done locally by a good shop. I would wait to flash that map. Why do i say that? the COBB e30 map is indeed a nice jump in power. But a custom e30 map is a whole new animal. When i got my custom e30 tune and i compared it to the ots e30 map 4th-6th gear was just nasty. The custom map pulls so much harder and it should since its directly made for your car. If you go from your 91oct map to a custom e30 map it will put a large smile on your face ha

oh and STI FTW

Also a good point lol. MHD is currently the best in my opinion. But since he has the cobb already you can make the best out of it with a custom tune

If you think Cobb is conservative, have you heard of Dinan?

By no accident conservative is safe and a big corporate company like Cobb has to protect themselves.

By no accident, just like BMW did, they leave some head room on the table.

A custom map will be worth it, especially if you can throw in some E85.

Wedge can tune with your Cobb if you wanted to keep it.

I'm in Sacramento

Nice gains with E30 map. You will be pleased. Virtual dyno for me is 415HP and 480 TQ with Cobb OTS E30 map. Made runs on the Madison/Hwy 80 on ramp heading East. Nice and safe tune. No timing corrections. Would be happy to meet up and go for a ride. Wedge tune to E50 bumped me on Virtual Dyno to 445HP and 525 TQ.
