Business CIC replacement

Hi

The business CIC unit in my 2010 e90 has recently started playing up so i have bought a replacement which i plan to swap it out. My question is will it be a straight swap? I think i may already know the answer to this as reading up on professional cic retrofits shows that you need to allow for the vin being different which requires emulator for the unit to work properly.

I assume the same will apply to the business cic unit. If thats the case what's the best way to get around this.

Any help much appreciated
