Just bought 2007 328xi with 36K miles - what should I change asap?

It was bought CPO in 2011 with 21K miles in excellent condition. A person drove 16K more miles and then car was stored for 4 years. Only oil was changed during that time.

Now after car was stored for 4 years, I bought it and I'm a bit puzzled what should I do in terms of maintenance? Going by mileage there is not much to do. Going by years it's a 8-9 years old car. Any ideas will be appreciated.

P.S. What is a must change/replace and what can wait?

New tires and a new battery for sure.

If it's an automatic, replace the transmission fluid, pan, drain plug, and filter. As well as the mechatronic sleeve which was particularly problematic on the early builds:

Thanks 808AWD325xi! What about coolant, break fluid and transfer case fluid - are these necessary to replace asap? Serpentine belt?

BMW calls for brake fluid to be replaced every two years.

Yeah, the brake fluid will definitely have to be replaced...it's hygroscopic.

Likewise, the fuel system will need to be inspected. Where the gas evaporated, it will leave behind gummy deposits and varnish. The fuel pumps and injectors may have to be replaced.

You should at a minimum remove and inspect the spark plugs. I would be concerned about whether the plugs have seized.

All the fluids should be replaced and the coolant system serviced. Replace the coolant expansion tank and the cap for sure, they're inexpensive. If the plastic cap hasn't disintegrated yet, it will soon.

The serpentine belt would be a good measure as well.
