Steering wheel trim repaint or wrap?
Hello guys,
I've been searching what paint to use for the steering wheel trim for a perfect OEM match, better if feel like rubber-ish when touched. I still can't conclude what people use to repaint/wrap their trims. I have a M3 trim. Suggestions for OEM look and feel? Thanks Joey |

If you want the rubbery feel for cheap then go plastidip, I'm not too familiar with wraps but I don't think you'll get the same consistency from wrap If you want an oem feel. I used carbon fiber wrap on my steering wheel trim and I love the look and feel of it. 10 dollar project

I did some googling also, but most of the photos show their paint is a bit too "Black" compare to the stock one. Stock color is more a leather color, or grey ish, tell me you also see that |

I can assure you the feel and look of it is exactly like OEM. That area on the wheel doesn't really get touched anyways so your main concern should be the OEM look. Prepping the plastic is important before you paint or vinyl. Forget sanding the rubber coating, takes way too much time and its messy. Do what I did here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1122789 |

The 1080 black route will look OEM and is short money. Still looks new after a year. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1049536 Last edited by zero2sixtyZ; 02-17-2016 at 12:20 PM.. |
