Hi guys.

My N47 318d 2011 has some pretty wicked noises coming from the engine and my clutch is slipping. Bad week, huh?

So engine is coming out and we're changing the lot.

I want to make sure I put in the enhanced timing chain kit, not the same dog that is failing... Does anyone know what kit I should look for?

I googled this and found that they recalled the N47 timing chain? Have you looked into this?

Yes, it's a common fault with my engine. I'm sure the issue isn't so wide spread in cars built after 2009 like mine, but it's all too sketchy for my liking, so it's getting changed.

I want to make sure I fit the new timing kit, not the version that's been recalled. Problem is BMW won't really accept much liability.

It died today. Chain went, Pistons smacked the valves and I need a full engine rebuild
