Question Wastegate/Turbo Squeak?

Hey everyone,

I had my wastegate actuators (only) replaced under warranty a month ago.
A few days, maybe a week after I got the car back I started to notice a squeak when I turn the car off.

This noise is heard as the engine stops, its the very last noise it makes.
Im thinking it could just be the wastegates or throttle.
I hope its not the turbos coming to a squeaking stop.

Engine mods:
JB4
DCI
N55 midpipe

Here is a video, the noise is at 0:03

Thanks

**EDIT**
I think I was right, it seems to be the wastegate or or actuator that is making the noise
Here is a new video

Sounds like a sqeuak from release of vacuum, not really like a mechanical metal on metal squeak. Could be normal, but may want to check your vacuum lines that run from the vac pump (under the oil filter housing) up across the valve cover to the solenoids, etc.

It's the actuator releasing the wastegate from the loss of vacuum pressure as the car shuts. Normal, and annoying. Nothing to be concerned with.

Anyone found a cause for this? I am getting it too on my N54?

Sounds just like in the videos above.

Lubricated the actuator rod with some spray and it cured it!

Drew,

why not take the car back to the dealer and have them adjust the actuators since they just replaced them a month ago. I know the dealer mechanics are not the best, but since you have them on the hook right now I would take advantage of that.

Wow! Holy zombie thread batman!

This ended up being a simple fix. Where the actuator arm is attached to the wastegate, you need to apply a small amount of lube. Problem solved.
