New Wedge Video

Couldn't get a full feel of this tune since it's still rather cold outside and hence the snowtires, but once it's warmer and my summers are on I'll have a much more detailed review of what this tune feels like.

First impressions: Very smooth and powerful, the way that boost comes online is great. Very cool

Nice video! Thanks for doing it. I think I may just finally buy the stuff and try it out.

Haha dude it's such a sick car, it's Eric's. That car is so cool, maybe not the quickest 0-60, but it's still very fast and super fun to be in/around. We'll put up some more videos of it this spring when he's back from school.

Thanks man that's what I did; just bit the bullet. I was pretty sketched out by it all and all my friends thought it was super dumb, but I did my research and learned that it's really the best option for me. It's super fast, and I'll have it on a Dyno later this spring to show the differences between the maps from Stage 2 93 v6 to v5.4 to E40 blend map. Should be interesting

The new tunes are definitely better. Much smoother and more top end.

Why did you have to flash a stock bin first and then back it up?

Was there a tune in your DME before flashing with MHD or is this just the standard MHD protocol

Not sure I bought my car used and it has had a long history, found meth lines in it and wanted to update to the latest stock file.

I got my tablet in today to do the flash & it has a HUGE crack in it so I sent it back to Amazon & they're sending me another.

I was curious if you need to buy more maps if you change stages or fuel. I know you can do the custom maps, but I was curious about OTS ones.

Check out my video on their OTS maps, they have 3. A Stage 1, A stage 2, and an E40 mix. You can also snag a BMS backend through the MHD interface.

Each stage comes with 2 versions, one for 91 gas and one for 93. So if you buy a stage 1 tune you can flash the 91 tune or the 93 tune and switch between them as many times as you'd like. Enjoy your tune once you're all set up and ready to go.

is a pro tune worth it for 91 octane since MHD maps already come great out of the box?

IMO don't get a custom tune unless you're not satisfied with the ots tune and you are done with your bolt ons. I emailed Ken a long time ago asking for a custom tune and he explained that it wasn't that he wouldn't take my money, but it's that the ots tunes are really great. With our cars they don't need to be custom tuned or dyno tuned unlike let's say, a WRX. You can get substantial power from an ots tune. I'd say if you're all done with your bolt ons, buy a tune, and see how you like it.

With no physical mods? You're absolutely right; an OTS tune is more than good enough. But physical mods are pretty reasonable, even for a guy your age.

You can pick up used parts pretty cheap - most of my stuff I picked up used from these forums. Only the FMIC and chargepipe/BOV and inlets were new, and frankly, pipes are pipes are pipes. Exhausts don't wear out and neither do downpipes - why pay for new?

You can hit FBO with inlets for probably less than $3,000 if you're careful.

All of the MHD maps are Wedge maps. He's referring to the new v6 maps that will be released this week.

Couldn't agree more man. I bought my JB4 here on the forums and made all my money back, actually made money buying the Wedge tune, and inlets are next. At the same time I'm off to college next year and there comes a point when I ask myself how much more money I want to dump into my car, even though it's so tempting.

Get them from FCP EURO. they have a lifetime warranty on every single thing they sell. You can return it no questions asked. I'm going to get injectors from them in the next month or so.
