Originally, I was going to use my credit union at 5.99% for 48 months, but BMW Financial Services offered 4.90% in December, so I went with them.
Here are the offers from BMWFS.

BMWFS. At 4.9% (for a 335i), it is hard to beat.

i'm not sure how good my credit is though so I want to know how realistic it is for me to expect 4.9 from bmwfs. can someone chime in? yes 4.9 does seem pretty good. Also, whats the difference from "financing" and "performance loan" on the BWMFS website??

This special financing ends on 1/02 on BMW's books....it's 3.9% on 328 coupes and sedans and 4.9% on 335 coupes and sedans, not on cab's and normal financing on the rest of the models.Big credit unions are hard to beat, but not all of them will finance on ED cars since it takes a while for them to receive the title.
If Penfed approves you,BMWFS probably will as well, but you need to submit a credit app asap to lock the rate. |

The Navy FCU beats those rates....I wasn't in the Navy but my friend's bro was. In general, the dealership (any one) has enough power to match the lowest rate a person can find on the web. IMHO they key is to walk into the dealership prepared to do a cash deal (bring your own financing). They want to make money by referring your loan as well, so they can get any rate under the sun that's legit.

I also went with Navy FCU. 5% isnt bad plus it gave me negotiation power with a check in hand.

What I found in my case, my CA said she was confident she could beat anything a credit union could give me. At the time, I got 5.5% (12/06) from my credit union, and the dealership wrote up 5.49 for 60 mos., beating them. What I notice is that the paperwork was a generic loan contract. It wasn't until nearly 3 wks. later that I got a loan statement in the mail from Bank of America. The dealership gave me the impression that they are able to go through many banks which increased the odds of beating the credit union. Back in 12/06, there was no way I could have gone directly to BoA to get that rate. At that time, the Cap Ones and the HSBC Directs of the world were 6.4...
