Another Alpina transmission flash to try

Hi guys,

I've found another Alpina B3 flash for somebody to try. I've got a lot of stuff on the go at the moment and I sold the laptop that worked with DCAN cables (My Mac's USB3 ports with whatever "power saving" features they use these days means a working DCAN cable drops in and out). The ZB number is 100% an earlier Alpina B3 flash. I have attached a screenshot of the latest kmm_ATSH.txt file showing the list of ZB numbers for the Alpina B3 models up to 2010 (You'll notice that 7603537 is the latest which is the most recently discovered Alpina flash before now).

I have attached a zip file which contains a GKE215 folder with the files needed for this flash from SP Daten v32. Temporarily rename your GKE215 folder in C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA and put this one in its place. then flash the following ZB number using WinKFP:

7592076

Obviously, there's a good chance that it will be much the same as the others we've already tried but IMAGINE if it had significantly higher D mode shift points! You just never know till you try.

I look forward to hearing some feedback on this one soon.

Cheers,

Brad

Well try this flash then guys. It might do exactly that. If it's way better, the first tester will be always remembered. Think of the rep points!

In for results about D Mode. I wish I could leave D pretty much stock.

I'm not the most proficient coder otherwise I'd go out and do it now to see.

What year cars are compatible for the TCU flash? I have a torque limit 4 problem and need a flashable TCU ASAP

This is how I feel about the Alpina flash too. I tried flashing the linear throttle version of the same map and it seems to have helped driveability. I have to give a little more throttle to accelerate as I normally would, and this seems to make the transmission hold the gear a little bit longer. Makes the D mode a little better for me.

Thumbs up

I can confirm that ZB 7592076 and the other four ZB numbers that Brad shared are in fact Alpina B3 TCU firmware variants.

In addition to these, I've found three other versions. 1 for the B3 with a N55 engine and 2 for the B3 with a N54 engine.

I plan to hunt down the old SP Datens and begin trying the various flashes. Perhaps once I've had an opportunity to try them, I will post more details.
