Fuel Pump Going Out?
What are the signs of your fuel pump going out?? My car shuts down when I get on it hard from low Rpm's and 80 mph kick, shifts down at 80 and kicks hard until 7k rpms and shift and then goes into limp mode.? Did not start all this until I put 35-40 % E85 in it. Please give me feed back. Really don't know that much about these cars just wanting something fun with a lot of power. Not worried about money. Thank you guys Anyone wants to call me that will be ok too. 251-214-7909 Ken

You just need to have someone pull and read the codes that your car is giving you, that will tell you why it is forced into limp mode.
Far too many possibilities to start guessing which one without data. |

Ken,
35-40% e85 sounds like the culprit to me without seeing logs... If your LPFP is crashing, it is likely causing the HPFP to read low enough to trigger a 29dc limp mode. Need to log to verify. If the LPFP is stock that is pushing the limits of ethanol mix it can handle.. If it was in good health it would be OK but older worn pumps seem to tank at those levels. Get some logs to post up and show a more clear picture of what is happening! Chris www.boostconcepts.net |
