shiv help!! happy meal gave me food poisoning/ check engine

shiv i was wondering if you could give me some info on what went wrong.

to start here is how i made it, your DYI wasn't very clear so i followed it the best i could. i took a 1k resistor and a 330 resistor, twisted the ends of one side together, i then took 2 wires (one with female and one with male end) and connected them to the the side of the 1k resistor (not the side connected to the 330 resistor). i then took a wire with a male end and connected it to the side of the 330 resistor (not the side connected to the 1k resistor). i then connected a wire with a female end to the resistors were they were joined. covered all connectioins with heat shink and marked the wires with different color take to know were the went.

now for the install.
in your DYI it said pin 34 of the larger black connector. when i looked at that pin the wires was yellow with a red tracer and since i have never seen a ground that was yellow i didn't use it. i decided to use pin 32 that wire was black with a red tracer and also that is the wire my jb2 uses so i figured that would be a good ground. i installed the wires that came off the 1k resistor inline with that wire. i then installed the other wires into pin 10 yellow wire (map signal wire) i connected the male one into the factory female one that i removed from the pin 10 slot (figured that would be MAPin according to your DYI). and installed the female one into the dme connector (figured that would be MAPout). then i started the car and had a check engine light right away. the code said something about turbo charger boost circuit.

if you could please tell me what i did wrong, i would really appreaciate it.
thanks

LOL +1

My little how-to wasnt clear enough for DIY. It was just to give everyone an idea of how it works. So at this point. I'd undo your work and wait until I post up actual instructions with pictures.

We are going through with offering the product (I think PREcede has a nice ring to it), btw. Maybe you can test it for us? PM me if you are interested.

i already undid my work and reinstalled by jb2hr. i was just trying to kill some time before the football games start so i thought i'd give it a try. that is why i used the pins my jb2 goes into and not the pin 34 like you said, figured worst case would be a check engine, pulled out my reader and cleared it. if you want to send me one to test i'll try it out, ii'll hit you up with a PM. but you are going to post a clear DYI, and sell the product? that doesn't sound like a good business move to me, there are people like me who have the stuff laying around to make it, so if want you can give me clear instructions on how to do it and save yourself some postage.

Shiv is selling the harness + a few bucks for the "product". Harness is worth a fair amount of $$$ as it let's you upgrade to the full PROcede when you are ready for it.

PS: Shivz; So I guess you did not like my "OJcide" suggestion for your new product?

Works well--actually more like 40 hp. Problem is, it's hard to do it the second time.
