Thanks for ideas guys.
I think I've narrowed it to an e23 7 series/6series or an e28 5series. All in manual transmissions. Nothing in cars eBay or autotrader but plenty on Craigslist and the forums Going to have to travel for this purchase which I'm not real happy about since em where talking cheap ass cars here.... Aka plenty of surprises and condition errors.... |

I will say I'm in the lowest crime area around.
Plus there's like 4 cops that "hang out" at the Walmart at night. And yes, I go out for a burrito or grocery shopping from 11-2am occasionally and I don't want to take the vanquish, hummers any of the bikes or the m3 |

in all seriousness, i considered the same thing you want. i even have a friend who teaches at the local technical school who wanted to do some free work on whatever i got to make it cooler. i just don't think those deals are out there on these cars. "coolness" + some performance + Reliability does not equal less than 5k. sure, those deals are around, but not worth the hassle on craigslist. my friend who buys and sells m3's, including salvage ones for parts brought up a good point about the 10k dollar e36 m3. 10k is about what you SHOULD be paying for a e36. anything less you're going to equal out to 10k over a year in repairs and maintenance that shoulda been done. |
