[Price Advice] Buying a 2011 328i M-Sport for $21K
Hi,
I've saved up to to build an emergency fund and paid off my student loans! I'm pretty against racking up more debt and saved up my to get a MSport BMW. I've test drove a few cars and the 328i is enough power for me. I'm coming from 140 HP car from 2005! Any advice on this deal: https://www.beepi.com/Buy/bmw/3-seri...KE5C59BE755469 Anything wrong with these models? Thanks in advance! |

Why not a 09-10 335i for around the same price?

Of course the guy with the 328i says stick to the 328i. I agree with FL335, you may be coming from a 140hp car but the 328i is honestly very slow and boring to drive as well.. With your price range you should be able to find an N54 with 60k or less..

The 328i is reliable and cheap, but doesn't have a lot of get up and go. I would at least consider 335i's. WARNING: Once you taste boost you can't go back.
And agreed with some others, for that price you can get a fairly well optioned lower mileage N54, especially if you'll look at 08 models. Stay away from 07's. Make sure they have the extended warranty on HPFP (10 years, 120k miles).

BUY what makes you happy and what you are capable of handling! However, the Beepi car you listed seems to be poorly cared for. At least, the interior, alot of stains and smudges for a 11'

335i's have much higher maintenance costs and potential to drain your wallet. If you just want a nice daily to cruise in the 328i is the way to go. If you want a nice car to upgrade later and mod etc than the 335i would be better. The 328i's are pretty reliable though, by BMW's standards atleast which isn't that good.

My 328i feels 335i fast on top end..but there is no denying that torque. Juat know the 335i will be fa st er no matter what, and if you're ok with that, you're ok with a 328i.

In terms of price, if the 328 is what you want, I paid more than that for my fully optioned 2010 328i with 6 speed.
