Diff bearing races

I am in the middle of installing the mfactory lsd. I can't get the bearing race off the old diff. any magic tool or tips?

I tired the is with little luck...

At this point I might just bring it to a shop to pull it off with a press.

Agreed if you have a bolted diff it's not bad. I almost bought a press but I think I still need random tools to get it off. Unless someone tells me a easy way to do the race I'll probably take it to the shop tommorrow. Another option would be to buy new bearings.

I already got the ring gear off. It took 2 really long breaker bars. One to hold it in place. The other to turn. The last bolt was a little tricky.

Also the c clamp you really do need 90 degree long nose pilers. Stright or 45 degree do not work. I ended up buying the 11 inch one from HR.

I also had to take out the exhaust. . Couldn't wiggle it out by my self with it on.

I had a 600mm breaker bar and a vice bolted to my ute tray, my bolts took a bit to crack them.
I snapped my first set of c clip pliers had to persevere with one pin snapped off the pliers.

I have alot if random tools but couldn't figure a way to get it off.

I took the exhaust off first.

I think you can buy it from them. Yeah I bought a dial indicator off of Amazon.

Anyone have answers to the original question?

Guess I am going to the shop for the races. Or maybe this is a reason to buy a press

I ended up taking the open diff and mfactory lsd to my friends shop.. He ended up using a press and the tool above.

I put the diff back together.. just waiting for the seal to dry and some time to put it back in and then I can really test this thing out.

This thing is a piece of art

Why couldn't the harbour freight tool in the first post pull the bearing race off? Could you not exert enough force with the tool to pull it off? Were you turning it by breaker bar or using an impact to wind the puller?

It's a tad 2 small. I got longer bolts but that didn't work either. Tbh I only tried for 15 mins. It looked sketchy and I didn't want to mess up the races so I didn't continue. The amazon one looks slightly bigger.
