N57 480A error

I have a 2009 330d LCI with the N57.

I've had a strange MAF code I can't clear 3FC0 deviation too high at idle speed. I think this just needs MAF adaptations resetting once I get Rheingold working.

I've just started getting a 480A error code related to the DPF.

Would a MAF error stop the DPF re-gening as the car is only on 71k so seems a little young for DPF issues.

very likely. If something minor like a glow plug fault can stop DPF regens, then surely a fault with the main load input to the ECU will also stop it!

Happy days!

I need to get Rheingold working and reset adaptations then.

The MAF fault has been really frustrating as it literally doesn't clear and was still present even when I changed the MAF.

Just to confirm; the 3FC0 was cleared by resetting MAF adaptations in Rheingold

Now to solve the 480a. Anyone know where the guide is to clear this by clearing codes?

The MAF fault is fully resolved however the 480a remained.

I added a bottle of Forte DPF regenerator around 150 miles ago which may or may not have helped.

I requested a regen in Rheingold last night. After 3 10 mile round trips last night and this morning; the DPF status shows as being regenerated 2 minutes before I got home.

This would suggest that the Rheingold request can complete even with 480a present.

Happy days!

Hi Len. Glad you've got the 480A sorted. I've read that if the status line (as per INPA) says that the fault is stored and not present, the car will still regen.
If the fault says stored and present the it will not regen.

On a separate note, how did you get rheingold to connect to the car? Mine is causing me a headache.

The Forte may have worked to give enough time before the code returned and prevented the regen.

I did try clearing the codes in INPA repeatedly and 480a returned every few seconds at that point which prevented a regen.

Try this for the Rheingold setup. Once you're used to it it's so much easier to use than INPA.
