Expansion Tank / Hose Coolant leak

Question:

I'm leaking coolant between the bottom fitting of the expansion tank and the hose that clips in there with a c-clip.

Is there an oring in this fitting I could replace?

Does anyone have any experiance with a similar leak? It seems like an oring issue and would rather not have to replace the Tank (100$) and the hose (100$)

Thanks,
Nate

Probably have to replace the tank as it most likely has a crack.

Yup, tried replacing the oring no luck. Ended up just getting the tank and replacing that. Problem resolved.

I recently had a small leak coming from the expansion tank. When I took my car to the dealership (still under warranty) they replaced the o-ring, expansion tank, and the hose running to the radiator.

I guess the expansion tanks are known to crack, according to my SA.

BMWs from 1999+ (dunno about the F30) have had ET cracking problems. It became prominent enough that Bosch released a revised part number for the E46 at some point in the future. I wonder if the E9X is the same way.

Edit: Yep, looks like they did. It was revised in 2013. The new part number is 17137640514.

Hopefully with this new revised part, one I recently purchased to fix my leaking tank, I won't have to replace it in less than another 60k miles.

You have a DIY you referenced? Going to replace mine tonight. Also did you hookup a battery charger?
