Gumout Regane or Chevron Techron Plus are the best, according to the guys on the Bob Is The Oil Guy forums. I've had good luck with both of these products.

Chevron Techron - this is also sold by BMW under its own brand (you can find the part number on this forum).

I have been using Techron in my cars for 20 years. As stated it is the same as BMW fuel system cleaner. It is also sold at GM dealers under their own label, but the bottle shape and color is always the same. Just be sure you get the Techron Concentrate if you buy it at a private store, not the Techron "Pro Guard" which is not as strong. Costco sells the Techron Pro Guard which is NOT what you want. I put a full 20oz bottle in my 335i every 3000 miles and also in my Acura MDX.

Techron: get the fuel "system" cleaner, not the fuel "injector" cleaner. It's more expensive, but higher concentration.

I use one large bottle before each oil change. In fact, I should get one soon. I use only Chevron or Shell gasoline.

Techron is the standard. Just remember with you having a DI engine any cleaner will not clean the valves because the fuel is injected straight into the cylinder.

Fyi, on sale at autozone; buy 1 get 1 free.

Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

I used to be a BG sales rep. That stuff is amazing. Heck, all of their products do exactly what they say they will. Of all the testing we did on additives, the worst across the board was Lucas.

Hey, the guy that has been maintaining my car told me that my fuel injector might need cleaning as there's been some grayish smoke coming out of the exhaust as well as some weird problems with the revs sometimes and he told me to buy a fuel injector cleaner in order to try the "light-treatment" instead of going with an ultrasound cleaning and that's IF the problem's in the fuel injectors. I actually googled for fuel injector cleaners and got on this website which claimed that they've reviewed the best fuel injector cleaners but I'm not really sure whether to trust them with that, so I've decided to ask you guys as checking with people that have already used this stuff is way better than reading lame reviews on websites.

Apparently Redline makes good stuff. Will be running an ounce or so just before each tank of fuel runs out in my car until the bottle goes dry. Gonna see if it makes any difference or not.

When I got my car, I used BG44K.
2 cans, back to back on 2 tanks.
Worked great.

Now 2 years later, having a misfire issue... One 1 issue on cyln 3.
Trying techron concentrate right now.... Seems to work.

Looks like this review is pretty spot on:
http://smile.amazon.com/review/R15T0...SIN=B000J3G8MW

Whenever I add 1oz of this stuff with every full tank of gas, I get 1+ extra mpg lol not much, but since I'm mainly using this stuff to try and keep the injectors clean, etc. I'll certainly take that as a bonus

Oh I totally agree with nydog! Redline and also Techron are the best ones but by http://injectorcleanermanual.com/ the best ones are sea foam, lucas and berryman. Anyway why don`t try each of them ?

+1 for Techron Concentrate plus. Advance auto parts has a sale right now for $5 each. Stocked them up . I usually dump a whole bottle on empty tank every 1000 or so miles.

In case anyone needs the techron, I just bought it last night from o'reilly auto parts on sale for buy 1 get 1 free. After adding it this morning, my car is running more smoother and better. This stuff really works!
