Help with a lease
I went to the local BMW dealership this previous weekend. I found a 325i and worked the price down to 32,250. It will be the lowest money factor available my credit is very good. The deal he gave me was $559 per month plus tax with no money down 15,000 mi per year for 3 years. Now that I have been reading some of these posts I am starting to understand leasing. It seems like I might be getting a little bit ripped off. when I do the figures in a lease calc. it says i should pay $529 per month tax included. I would appreciate some advise from you guys on how to get the price where it should be.

Use the calculator here to see how your payment looks with your inputs: www.leaseguide.com
We have one on this site as well in the correct forum (where your post should be as well).

Ask for the printout of his calculations and see where his numbers differ from yours. And give me the rest of the details on your lease and I'll see what I get for your payment:
1) MSRP (and invoice if you know it) 2) Money factor 3) Residual 4) Tax rate in state of registration Your payment does seem high.

Here's what I get. The first column assumes you pay your acquisition fee upfront, and the second assumes you roll it into your cap cost.
By the way, your MSRP of "just under 34000" and your quoted residual don't make sense. So I put in the MSRP in my model of which 62% is the residual you provided.

That is high. You may also want to look at a 330i since the money factor is slightly better. Good luck.

Yeah, it's one I used when I was doing my lease. There are a lot of lease calculators online, and a lot of excel spreadsheets online and on this site, but I really like the simplicity of all the calculations in 1 column without all the fluff.
When I was comparing different cars and option packages, I had like 10 different columns side by side to immediately see how much my monthly payment would be on each. And if you're a little familiar with excel you can run data tables to calculate the sensitivity of monthly payment to changes in selling price (dealer profit), money factor, or residual. Very cool stuff. Anyways, with the help of this sheet and a little understanding of the process I got a pretty good deal - on the car in my sig I pay about $491/month on a 3 yr/12k lease in NJ with $0 down.
