Beware of Umnitza!
Beware of Umnitza!!!
I made the mistake of doing business with them and am out almost $900 as a result. When I first called them to talk about a new set of lights for my E39 BMW I asked if they had any OEM lights. They said we have lights that are better than OEM lights. The pictures looked good, and I placed an order. From the very first install attempt the lights always projected too low, and when I moved the adjusters up to aim them the adjusters would become separated before the proper angle was arrived at. I shipped my lights back to Umnitza at least 3 times over the course of several months while they tried to fix and work out the problem. They never truly fixed the problem, and at one time I was without lights for more than a month. At that point I asked Umnitza for a refund and they refused. This is a very shortened version of what happened, I have an email chain over 80 emails long. They will probably try to spew more BS about me not installing them correctly. However, I finally bought a set of OEM BMW lights they installed the first time with no problems AT ALL! So much for not knowing how to install some simple headlights. Umnitza sold me a product which didn't work as advertised on my car. Part of the reason is that the bracket for there lights is from a 2001 E39, and my car is a 2000. They knew this from the start. Their customer service was unable to fix the problem, slow and uncommunicative. They weren't straight with me about potential problems with these lights on some E39s. And they weren't honest when describing the situation to the credit card company when I filed a dispute. If you buy something from them and there is a problem I would expect you could run into similar circumstances as I did. I excercised so much patience and gave them the benefit of the doubt too many times, and it was all for naught. Consider yourself forewarned. Here are some links to other threads where people have had similar problems in dealing with Umnitza. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...f-umnitza.html http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-franc...ncord-ca-75038 http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=210535 http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/200...xperience.html http://m.nuestraq.com/youtube/v/CLZMyhiAzPQ/ http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/pro...a-39479-2.html http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/arch...p/t-58472.html https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/comment...s_projector46/ http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...ase-if-you-can http://e60.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=301721 http://maxima.org/forums/5th-generat...-v2-sucks.html http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=228729 http://5series.net/forums/buyer-sell...t-ever-113411/ http://5series.net/forums/e60-parts-...issues-123187/ http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=729509 http://www.luxury4play.com/archive/i...p/t-85211.html http://www.scionlife.com/forums/buye...nergia-162562/ http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=723228 http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/200...tza-sucks.html http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706826 |

Wow, you really did your homework. I'm also a little surprised that those guys are still around under the SAME name if mrkoven's recollection is accurate.

Hopefully you paid by credit card. I have found that the credit card companies are very good at getting you a refund in these cases by disputing the charge.

this has always been my experience with certain aftermarket headlamps, when you try to align and aim them properly for some reason they either never do or the light gets very distorted, I have seen people that are very good at shimming them or playing around with the mounting screws to help aim them better, but I don't have the time nor patience to do that

Damn, these guys are still around? I remember everyone was buying their lights for their E46 M3s. Reviews have been mixed.
