Hey all, recently purchase an 11' 335i Xdrive and just placed an order for a JB4 and a VRSF 3.5" Cat-less DP and a few other goodies. I have experience doing this kind of work myself (did it all on my 135i) so i will be doing pretty much everything myself. However, i hear that doing the Downpipe on the Xi's is a real PITA and i just dont have the time to mess around with this kind of stuff anymore.

Anybody know a good (experienced) place that will do the install in NJ? I would prefer somewhere in the Monmouth or Ocean county areas but will travel farther out if i cant get it done around here...

I just did mine on my 2011 x-drive. It isn't as bad as everyone says. It took me 5 hours on jack stands but it's really not bad at all. Just put a jack under the subframe and lower it an inch and everything slides right out easily, its only 6 bolts that are easy to reach to lower the subframe.

Normally i wouldn't hesitate to tackle this on my own regardless of how hard people say it is. However, now that i have twin 6 month olds running around and more work responsibilities i just don't have as much time to work on my cars as i'd like.

That bring said, I just had the Downpipe installed today at Procom in Toms River. Charged me $337 (incl. tax). I didn't have a ride to get back and forth to the shop so i waited and ended up being there about 4 hrs total. The guys over there are great very Professional and very informative.

They focus mostly on GTR's, Porsche's, Evo's and STI's and mentioned they are starting to stay away from most N54/N55 work other than simple bolt on stuff once in awhile. I asked about having a Custom tune done with a JB4 and they won't touch it. Cobb only.
