So....

I have the Heels over Nova in 4 of my 12 brackets, and Nova over the Heels in 2 of the 12...

Not too bad at the picks this year

One of my brackets had every team correct in the final four...except Kansas, who I had winning it all in that pool

I think NC has the better team, but Nova sure is hot right now. NC should win it, but wouldn't be surprised to see it go either way.

That being said, I think UNC will take it.

I'm not a huge fan of basketball but watching that game gave me the chills. Congrats to Nova! It's nice to see a Philly team finally take home a championship.

I wasn't even a thought it 1985! So in my lifetime I haven't been able to witness Philly bring home any championships that I can recall.

So you missed the good 76er teams too.

Didn't TH Phillies win the World Series around 10 years ago?

Nova was pretty unbelievable throughout the tournament. They played their best ball when it counted the most.

Yes, the only championship I was on this earth for that I was old enough to comprehend was the Phillies in 2008. Which doesn't seem that long ago. I went from feeling super young to feeling super old.

That '85 Nova team upset NC with Kenny Smith and Brad Daughtery, Maryland with Len Bias, and then beat Georgetown with Ewing to win the title. That Nova/G'town title game was probably the biggest upset in NCAA history...

The 76'er teams with Malone, Erving, Mo Cheeks, Dawkins, and a rookie Barkley were tough!!

I agree. Both Villanova nation championship games are classics. They will last forever. I saw them both and it's very hard to pick which was more exciting or better...

The 76'er teams with Malone, Erving, Mo Cheeks, Dawkins, and a rookie Barkley were tough!!
The 76er team that won the championship in 1982/3 did not have Charles Barkley, he was drafted in 1984 along with Michael Jordan and some others. May have been the best draft class ever.

Sixers team that won the title (starters): Moses Malone C, Julius Erving F, Mark Ivaroni F, Maurice Cheeks G, Andrew Toney G. sixth man Bobby Jones F.

And I'll end on my favorite sport Pro football.
Many people say the eagles have never won a championship.
To set the record straight the Eagles have been in the Pro football championship game 5 times and won 3 of the 5 appearances.

1948 - NFL Champions
1949 - NFL Champions
1960 - NFL Champions, only playoff defeat for Vince Lombardi.
1980 - NFC Champions, lost Super Bowl to the Oakland Raiders 27-10.
2004 - NFC Champions, lost Super Bowl to the New England Patriots 24-21.

PA135i - I didn't say Barkley was on the championship team, only that he played on the great teams with Dr. J and the others mentioned.

Agree - that 1984 NBA draft was one of (if not THE) greatest of all times. Even with Sam Bowie bust.

Just pointing out facts for others then. I was season ticket holder for the 76ers in those days. And saw all the home playoff games in person that year.
Our seats were 7 rows behind the visitors bench. Great seats.

Of course, I only saw games 1&2 in person as they won in 4.
But in Game 2 late in the 4th quarter Bobby Jones was running down the lane and Erving fed him the ball and Jones stuffed it. that was loudest moment I ever experienced at a sporting event. just awesome.
