Mine was the same, new key from the dealer with forum discount was £140. Came pre-coded to the car so just plugged into the dash and off it went.

I used black hammerite on the brake disk bells so they wouldnt rust.

Wow 140 that's a bit steep for a key. I was looking to pay less than that. Gonna try a few of the online key coders I think rather than going to bmw, I always try to stay away from main dealers unless it's absolutely necessary.
