Jb4 installed and car won't rev past 2k rpm? Check engine light
Hey guys I just finished installing a jb4 g5 unit that u purchased from a member here. The car turned on but as soon as it does I get a half check engine light were it's only half illuminated. After letting it warm up I tried to drive it and the car won't rev past 2k rpm and if u go WOT it just revs freely and jerks. The car was driving 100% perfectly prior to the insatll an hour ago. After the install in getting these issues. I tried restarting the battery but nothing. I tried reading the code and deleting and nothing comes up. Could use some help .please and thanks

I'm looking at everything right now and it looks spot on. There's nothing I could of messed up on. As far as the connectors go. The arrows have to pointing the same direction correct? Left to left? If that's true then they connect with one connector showing a arrow and the other notbshowing because it's on the opposite end

After restarting the car. It know drives normal. Light is gone. I double checked the jb4 and it was all corresponding. Connectors only match up one way , i unhooked the unit and reconected it to the same probpem. looks like it's a faulty jb4 unit. I really wanted it to work but looks like I have to purchase it new to be error free.

I'm being told the following by the seller. If anyone could give me some input id apprciate it.
-it's normal for the jb4 to go into limp mode? -the system is telling me that something isint up to "Parr" that's why it's thrown ng directly into limp mode the moment I turn on the car? -could be as simple as plugs and or ignition coils that are old and the jb4 can sense this? -that I am to get a error code to solve the issue? Does this sound reasonable? And do you suggest I reinstall ? |

Your'e in the wrong subforum, you have an N54; which has a larger base than the N55, so if you post there, you'll probably get a quicker answer.
Also checkout N54Tech for support questions Good Luck Quote:

Get something to read the codes, they could be right about a spark plug or coil
