The ER re-uses stock O- ring.

VRSF comes with a larger O ring.

If I was to relate it to something, it feels slightly less restricted and more responsive, I'm not saying I'm gaining horsepower or anything, i just feel like the car responded to a change and is improved.
No, charge pipe will make no difference unless the original one was damaged. Your description sounds like a boost leak, so your original was probably cracked or not sealed properly.

If thats true then that is probably the case, isn't it pretty common for those stock cp's to not seal properly even when assembled correctly?

Stock always seals the best. But they can crack at stock boost levels.

+1 they seal where the seal is, they just tend to get hairline cracks that are hard to see unless your holding the cp and look, or under boost.
