bodyshop f**ked up my car
My E92 was repaired from a bodyshop last month from an accident.
I had to replace the front fender, bumper and passenger side's headlight. When I got my car back, "adaptive healight" failure warning popped up, so I brought my car back to the bodyshop and the guy said it's the programming problem that needs to be reset. So I brought my car to the dealer and the SA told me that the bodyshop did such a poor job on replacing the headlight so they need to diagnose it and see what needs to be done. If there's a major problem, I need to get a new headlight again, which is going to cost me $1200 + labor. Since I went through insurance, can I tell my insurance to pay for it? I don't want to spend anymore $$ on my car, except for mods... |

You should not have taken possession of the car from the body shop until everything was fixed. It is their job to take it to the dealer to get reset. You shouldn't be involved at all.
That being said, bring it back to the body shop and tell them to deal with the dealership to fix. Then call the insurance company for recourse. |

yup, everyone has a bottom line, never ever let anyone cross it and trample on your good. they are definitely responsible for the sh!t. You paid, right?! You paid to get them fixed your car, not paid them to fcuk you car up.
Good Luck!

I don't think a body shop can really f-k up a headlight install coz there's nothing that can be screwed up. Basically, your SA is a stupid jackass that is trying to blame it on the body shop to screw money out of you / BMW (for warranty work). It seems like the body shop did not replace the adpative headlight module that is sitting in the bottom of your headlights.
