Resonators placement on E90 ?

I added 1790s shortly after going catless dp ... sounds much cleaner and better with my BMW Performance exhaust (E90 N55 xdrive). I do miss the pop and gurgles.

Is there any negative impact on getting rid of the H pipe ? Told the shop i want to keep my secondary cats ( didn't want more smell /smoke) so they told me the only way to put these on was to delete the H pipe and then mount it after the secondary cats. Has anyone else done this?

What diff does it make if I put the resonators in place of secondary cats and put back the H pipe i had.

Thanks guys!

I have an n55, and no secondary cats, so it's a little different, but my h-pipe is in the same place I believe. I put my resonators where your secondary cats sit, right below the reinforcement plate.
I can't say i'd recommend removing he H-pipe, I remember Mr. 5 did that and hated it. You can probably find the thread around here somewhere.

For anyone interested to know how my current setup sounds.... here it is. I am still not quite sold on the sound so will likely get the H pipe put back where it was and put resonators in place of secondary cats.

shirtpants_ would you be able to post a clip of your setup while driving? I want to see how it sounds. Does it still pop and gurgle even with resonators bec mine barely does

Thanks!

The pops and gurgles come from your tune AFAIK, they'll just be exaggerated by what exhaust you have on. Deleting the H-pipe might have some effect on these sounds i suppose.
Yeah, ill try to get a video today, but it will be potato quality...

Honestly, Someone else posted up videos of the Corsa exhaust, and it sounds pretty much perfect. Depending on how much your shop is charging you to weld in parts, I would seriously consider saving up for the corsa exhaust. I still might switch to it, even though I've invested a painful amount of money in the stock exhaust. My setup doesn't sound bad by any means, its just the the corsa sounds so good IMO...

Sounds good man! yeah I have already invested so much into this will probably will pay more $$ to put back the H pipe and then replace secondary cats with resonators.

With Corsa - Was it catless dp+ corsa + H pipe or catless dp+corsa exhaust + H pipe and resonators? I guess if i do end up going corsa route , i will have to take out the vibrant resonators?

Does yours sound much louder than mine?

Thanks again man!
