Subwoofer blown making my audio sound like crap

my subwoofer under the passenger seat is blown i found this thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1168879

idk how far he got but i think i have the same issue

i have hifi system i have to set the bass in the eq to -8 to be able to listen to music mid loud if i have it below 3-4 i cant really raise the volume or all the music sounds like complete shit.. i have a subwoofer in the trunk so i dont mind cutting off the sub under the seat just dont know how too. also not sure if its blown as it does still move but makes a rattle noise when too loud now. i was reading and allot of people have said the amp can be an issue to i was looking into the bimmertech amp as it makes the stock sound system sound much better

We know the Hi Fi system is weak

We know the Hi Fi system is weak
So adding a subwoofer to a weak system gets you = weak system plus
heavy bass.
The under seat positions carry the midbass and midrange frequencys
so getting rid of it will give you a serious hole in the frequency range.
The answer is to fix whats wrong in the first place.
That means upgrading the amp for the stock positions and a set of decent speakers for all the front locations.
the helix 82dsp marketed by Bimmertech and a few others is the current
favorite route to upgrading the Hi Fi system.
Read some of the thread on it.
