Do I need a new coolant pump?
Hi everyone! (BMW 330i E90 05 plate)
Just recently my engine fan has been coming on intermittently, i ran the Carly app and the following fault codes were present. No engine warning lights or temperature lights 2e82 electric coolant pump, shut down 2E84 electric coolant pump, the communication I removed the coolant cap, while the engine and engine fan were running the stream of coolant was intermittent almost spitting. However when the fan is off and the engine is running the stream is strong and steady. I have also completed the test by holding down the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds without starting the car and the pump runs a test sequence which seems to work fine. I did change the battery just before this problem started so could it be this or a loose connection? dont want to buy a new pump without knowing that is the problem for sure. I would appreciate any advice. thanks Justin |

To me those fault codes suggest it's either failed once already or is about to fail.
They would be enough for me to replace it. The communication on could be a loose plug etc, so I would check that first.
