ATTN Bilstein B6 Diyer's: Did I make a mistake?

So the other day I installed the rear shocks and reused the top rubber gasket and the gray metal bump stop plate along with the all the components that came with the kit. In hindsight, I wonder if that gray plate was necessary but I saw on some youtube video someone doing what I did. In any case it doesn't seem as if that extra 1/8" plate even if unnecessary would be a problem. Car drives fine but I'm wondering if I need to redo the install. Please advise.

Here's a picture of my B6s just before install. I used the metal support cup as shown in the picture and everything is just fine....

Are you having any problems?
