Hi!
Just bought brake kit (calipers, pads, rotors) from e92 335.

And "do want" put it on to e36 328i

Question: has anyone done this? Has experience? At least seen the like, so that someone did.

Yes, it has been done! Caliper fits but does not line up with the rotor. You will need exactly 2cm spacer between the rotor and the hub. Just like wheel spacer just smaller diameter so it would fit inside the rotor hat. Anyhow, not worth it! My advice is to forget about it. Look for e36 CLS brakes. Same size as 335i just perfect fit. It will limit your wheel option too.

So, trying to fit caliper, and what we have:
these caliper are fit to rotating arm(carrier) and attachment loop - perfectly(!)
But! caliper is to much width, so that rim rests on him, and probably need 20mm spacer, or even larger.
Thats why stock 335i rotors is 73mm height, instead 52mm on e46/e36,
and thats why 345mm rotors from CLS/z4m does not fit correctly anyway, cuz 20mm spacers on e36 is too much for daily driving.
If trying to fit 335i rotor with 73mm height, it's rests first to protection plate(can be solved by cutting), second - to ball joint of tie rod, and that thing can't be solved by any means, i think...
The only way, its as you say, make a spacer between rotor hat and hub, but again its increase wheel ET.

I had two e36, 320i and 325i. Best upgrade for little money are brakes from e46 330i. Honestly that is my recommendation.

Yep, it seems like that.
PS, already have e46 330 brakes, but i would big disc 348mm, looks nasty on e36 and braking better than 330.
