Bluetooth Audio Functionality with Music Info

Hi, I am currently looking for a Bluetooth adapter for my 2009 CIC Navi unit. I saw online and came across the Kinivo BTC455 unit, SoundBot SB360 unit, and also the Tune2Air unit.

I am wondering if anyone had any experiences with these devices for ANDROID phones, not IOS where music info is displayed and allows the steering wheel buttons to function as well with it? I tried connecting my phone to my buddy's Tune2Air in his Audi A4, but none of the music info was displayed which was kind of weird, but his iPhone did.

Let me know what you guys are using and any suggestions would be wonderful.
Thanks!!

It depends also on the bluetooth profile supported by the phone...
iPhones since 3gs have supported the AVRCP profile which not all android phones do.. (recent ones do though)

I used the Kinivo in my car and I loved it, but I didn't have iDrive nor did I care about the music display lol. But I had to use the Kinivo unit to change the track. Works flawlessly, but there is a noticeable drop in audio quality versus plugging in directly to AUX.

So there is no devices that would display the song? What kind of option that needs to be within the phone for display to show?

Have you considered a BMW software update? I had my 2013 X5 for 13 months and it provided no music information display. Using this forum I discovered that there was a bluetooth software update that had never been done. Once I did the update it not only shows the info, I can change tracks etc without using my phone. When we did the same update on our 2011 e92 the results were identical.

I noticed this product, claims android compatibility and it connects to the optical most bus.

No Bluetooth steaming in BMW's till about 2010

No Bluetooth steaming in BMW's till about 2010
when they upgraded the mulf 2 to the combox.
If you want the OeM bluetooth streaming in an older car
you must have nav/idrive and to do the combox upgrade.
Some of the newer cars may have the combox and just need
the enabling software.

Talk to Bimmertech about the combox upgrade there is also
the Dension gateway 500s bluetooth .

If you know how to format a Flash drive you can use this link to do it at home. If not you can print it out and ask the dealer to do it for you. Understand there is a fee for this if your vehicle isn't under warranty even if the dealer should have done this update before your warranty expired.
