Question HELP!!! M Tech Spoiler install

I just tried installing the M Tech Spoiler from Carking, but the spoiler seems to be smaller than the actual trunk size.. So we thought that the spoiler was needed to be heated and in its flexi form, we could bend it and install it onto the trunk. Well it sort of worked... the bottom middle portion of the spoiler is raised and will not fit onto the trunk no matter how much weight I put on it. Is there a trick to this? I.e. Put on the spoiler from the middle and work your way out, left and right???... BTW I used 3M tape instead of beta link and the glue that came with the box. Please, any advice would help.
