Focal IFBMW-S+PP82DSP+ALPINE 62-BT HU HELP

Recently installed myself the following with Bmw 328i. 07 standard hifi setup
Alpine UTE-62-BT HU+BW01SR harness
PP82dsp bavsound with pnp harness
Focal front IFBMW-S
Focal rear deck R-100c
Match Bmw 8" subs V2

When I first completed the install I used the pac 4.2 integration kit harness which was wired through wires and rca plugs but the amp wouldn't turn on. Then I switch to BW01SR harness which was wired through wires then it worked, maybe sow one can explain.

Everything now is working fantastic but can anyone help or have any information on correct settings for the following below. I have tried researching and reading guides through amp website but can't seem to understand it. If anyone can help or recommend videos. I also tried the alpine tuneit-app but can't seem to register.
A. Frequency settings through pp82dsp amp high and low, slopes for high and low.
B. Gain settings and why
C. Should I just adjust from alpine head unit or 82dsp

FYI

this is one of the parts of a 13 part video on ytube on
how to tune a helix dsp.

There is also pretty much the same intructions on the Helix site
and some of the rtm software is included in the new rev of tuning
software I belive.

I would not try to tune with head unit I would set it to neutral since
the Helix has more powerful tuning capability.

Didn't bavsound give you a basic tune to start with which is probably no
good now that you have a non OEM Hu and speakers. channel assignment
should be good at least though.

Thank you, I actually watch a bunch of his videos I didn't want to do time aligning or volume matching since I don't have the special microphone. I just want to learn basic setup procedures. I feel like with all the reading I'm over my head, lol.. I setup the following configurations below and nothing played except for the 8" subs after 14clicks on the volume level. Can anyone explain???

High pass/ low pass configs on all 4 speakers front+rear on the dsp.
High 2040 hz @ 12 db/octave slope
Low 100hz @ 24 db/octave slope

I don't think you understand your system

I don't think you understand your system
the doors and floors should be on separate channels.
If you want to do this right you must get a microphone and
go through all the steps.
I have no idea of how the Bavsound harness works but I
assume they run at least 6 channels . In order to make some sense out of this you need to know how the bavsound harness is wired . Why are there some channels assigned to center channel?
Time alignment is one of the big reasons for buying one of these you can do a rough one just by measuring distances
as described and putting them in . You have to know your
channel assignment though .
There are cheaper microphones other than Helix one how well
they work and if they interface with the heilix I don't know.

I assume Bavsound provides you with a tune it should be in
the ballpark for the speaker size. You should talk to them
as they do charge you for it.

Like mentioned above, you need to identify your speakers and what is on each channel. Naming them is a Huge help for you and us.

Judging by the picture here, you have your high and low pass a bit backwards.
High Pass means everything Above that point will pass through (relative to slope)
Low Pass means everything Below that point will pass through (relative to slope)

That said, you can see where having your high pass set higher than your low pass would be a problem ..

I feel really stupid now, haha. Before reading your reply I tested the oem stereo back on and had the same problem with the same setup config.
High pass 20,000hz + slope -12db/oc
Low pass 124hz + slope -24db/oc

Keep in mind I figured this out myself and I'm a DIYourselfer, I installed it myself, researched everything even called several tech support numbers with no answers. I then changed the slopes back to 0db/oc then the magic happened!!!! Both oem and the aftermarket ALPINE HU WORKED!!!! I'm not sure if the butterworth characteristics is the factor with the negative slope settings.

Now I'm gonna keep the alpine HU since it has Bluetooth and better features than the oem stereo. This is so exciting since I found no threads on single din setups with aftermarket speakers, pp82dsp amp, bw01sr HU harness and the pnp amp harness from bavsound/bimmertech. I'm so happy everything works and sounds fantastic. I can't wait to learn more tuning so I can implement the new settings on the DSP...

Does anyone now know if I can hook up the pac4.2 harness through rca's. I keep reading around RCA HOOK up is better than the high output speaker wire setup. Can anyone elaborate or answer, can someone also recommends better configurations?
