Test wiring a Dynavin outside the car?

Hey you guys!

I recently upgraded my 2005 320D to 2006 330D (E90 to E91), and removed my Android Dynavin unit from the 320D before I upgraded cars.

I can't use it in the 330D unfortunately and so I need to sell but when I test wired it to get pics of it working for ebay or whatever, I can't get it to boot.

I have got the correct power lines from a 12v battery supplying the yellow, red, and black inputs for battery, ignition, and ground respectively, but it won't boot up with these.

Do I need to ground something for it to function, or apply some other connections? I don't want to hook it up to speakers (might possibly to do a video), but just to power up so am just unsure why it's not starting with these common 3 power inputs.

What have I missed?

Thanks guys!

Specifically it's a DVN-E9X android model.

Anyone able to assist with this at all please? I'm sure the unit must be ok as it was working perfectly when I removed it but I don't want to sell it without first being able to see it's all working ok.

Just can't get it to turn on though.
