help !! need help fellow members!!!

hello all,

I have a hifi system in my 2006 325xi (front doors/tweeters, underseats and rear deck) alll speakers are fine except my passenger underseat I am trying to run 2ohm 8swsxi and the speaker is distorted at even the lowest volume. I have a jl600/6 with technic harness. my question was is there anyway to play the speaker so that it does not distort? I know I can get the 4 ohm version but I want to play the 2 ohm my driver side works just fine. would another 200-300 watt amp help? thank you audio experts!

Could be a bad amp channel, a bad electrical connection, or a bad speaker. Definitely not a problem of having too little power. You have to go through some basic trouble shooting to isolate the cause of the problem.

so I plug the sws xi directly into the amp and it distorts like hell. two new speakers doing this so I doubt it's the speaker. the 4ohm version works fine

where is the gain set and the crossover setting?

where is the gain set and the crossover setting?
If you turn the gain all the way down what happens
Is it low passed at around 200 or less?
If you are not running the same speaker in the other
location its not a great idea to run different types from
one side to another.

these have been used before without complaint in pairs.
You didn't wire them in parallel did you?

gain I set down and up slowly, not much change in distortion. I'm not sure how to check for crossover setting thought the amp has a built in crossover? yes low passed at 170. I believe I am running a sws 8xi in the driver side. I just plug in the technic harness one speaker to one channel 6 in total and connect speakers to where the factory speakers would be.
