PURE Turbo on Automatic 335i, Thoughts?
I am looking to upgrade my stock turbos to PURE Stage 2. I am not really interested in RB or Vargas. From what I've seen on forums and videos, PURE makes some reliable and powerful turbos. My only issue is that I have a 2008 335i - automatic. I am thinking about doing a E85 conversion and tuning the car to push ~500whp rather then the near 700 that these turbos are proven to reach (with the right mods of course). I think the stock transmission should be able to handle around 500whp along with the E85 rather then pump 91.
Mods currently: Vanguard catback exhaust VRSF catless dp's Injen CAI BMS occ aFe air scoops Mods I plan on putting on if I install the new turbos: COBB tune COBB chargepipe LPFP for E85 conversion I plan on installing a larger intercooler at some point but not necessarily once I put the turbos in. |

The stock auto trans can handle up to 600whp. You'll be fine.
Just FYI, I would ditch the Cobb if you don't have a protune and get MHD. I'd highly recommend a FMIC ASAP. Good luck👍🏼. |

For someone that has a Cobb v3, why would I get an MHD instead? What is better about it?

The flexibility of MHD, the immense support, and ease of use would be enough to warrant switching. Cobb has pretty much stopped supporting the E9X platform; again tuning with stock components, not much benefit would be had from switching. High horsepower goals on the other hand, it would behoove you to switch. |

I'm running PS2s with VTT inlets and a fuel it stage2 LPFP
Puts out more power then you can keep on the tarmac tbh FMIC is a must unless you plan on only doing one or two pulls, otherwise you air intake temps will skyrocket Stock back end is fine, although a LSD and diff lock down kit would help with grip |
