My main point here is if you blocked them it wouldn't 'really' matter imo. 99.99% of N54s don't have a vented hood and are just fine.

I had a CF hood on my last car and I could see the heat escape as well. I never measured anything.

Which hood is that anyways? It's nice and clean and not all gaudy like the other hoods that are available.
I've noticed much quicker cool downs after running the quarter then after 8 minutes lining back up to pull down the quarter again. As far as oil temps. Probably subjective. I only see temps get to 240. But I don't know if that's due to hood I admit.
And it's a vorsteiner CF hood. (but painted) And thanks for the compliments. I had to jump through so many hoops to get this hood. And to get it to line up correctly, including custom brackets so I wouldn't have to have hood pins.
I just bought this hood a couple weeks ago. I've been worried about rain water as well.

Would you mind sharing more info on the custom brackets?

Pics of brackets? This is the only hood I have considered but I hate hood pins and aero latches on this hood/car. Just looks out of place to me.

Which temps exactly? AIT would have to be a ton cooler to matter as it goes through a red hot turbine...even then there is meth an E85...

Again, I am sure it lowers the temps but is there any measurable real world performance difference I guess is my question?

This is the only hood i like as well. Its just tough to find a real good quality CF one.

As for functionality, Anything that vents air will naturally draw more in. Sure people get away with stock hoods with no problems (like my self) but just removing my under body and running no cowl has dropped temps dramatically. I dont plan putting it back on until my next race or when @J. Dub gives me his. Any heat escaping from the vents only means its drawing in that much more air. More air, more efficient cooling system. also heat soaks especially sitting in traffic are reduced.

While I'm over at your house trading hoods, I can also trade you my custom diamond stitched seats.

The seats and hood came in handy at the speedway 3000GT MR

When you say trade seats, you mean seats and everything in them right? Lol

Love the car man!

Thank you for the bracket information...

Regarding the original question about multiple piece manifolds... More pieces usually means an easier install and usually a better fit imho. I've been a part of both for this platform and both fit fine, but the multi piece was easier to maneuver.

I'm very happy with my super RB's, otherwise I would order the doc race kit. But I feel most ST kits are good and the kinks have been worked out.
