E84 (X1) LCI - Halogen to Xenon

Hi Guys,

Sorry for posting here but there is no dedicated session on E84 board and E90 shares a lot with this model...

I retrofitted EU Bixenon (Non AHL ) lights LCI

So far done:
Added Ground
Moved High Beam pin to shutter ...

Before coding:
Led AE, EYE LID working ... xenon blinking and turns off after a couple seconds, Shutters bixenon working...

So I went ahead and coded car adding $522 ... Xenon Turns ON OK!, High Beam ok ...

But I lost the Angel Eyes and Led LIP... Maybe I coded something wrong ?

Please take a look at FRM TRC

Any ideas appreciated !

You'll have to look at the pin out on the connector to FRM. Also, when going halogen -> xenon you should change FRM to an 'XE' spec.

Thx, I will check today if I get power on pin 41 it should be AE .. after coding VO $522

I don't want to buy new FRM ... I might supply 12V directly to PIN .. but what wire will have 12V IGN on ...

Any ideas ?

FRM should be changed. I think there is some difference in PWM which may reduce lifetime of the ballasts / bulbs.

Anyway, I'll try find correct pinout for you when I get home later.

AHL is adaptive headlight. Low beam moves with the direction of the steering wheel. That may or may not cause problems for you if your headlights are non-AHL like you said in your main post.

To fix rings flickering... try changing the build date in your VO to a year the LCI X1 was manufactured. Find a donor VIN from an LCI car on a dealership website, plug the VIN into a VIN decoder and use it's build date. You can also try adding $5AK to the VO. It refers to "LED Light Elements".

Just keep in mind I am not an expert and I'm only sharing information that was shared to me.

Hey

I finally completed the retrofit.
Everything is working as expected.

Didn't need to replace FRM... x1 came with AHL module... so I highly recommend checking before ordering new one

I didn't use harness just the stock cables moved at the plug and frm.

I didn't install leveling sensor ... but that's a piece of cake.

Thank you to everyone here that was helping.

I will write up how to ... shouldn't take longer than 2hrs to install everything
