took car to dealer today - control arms bent

i took my car to the dealer today to change a blown out brake light and an oil change.... i had noticed my car pulling to the left a little a couple of days ago.. so i asked them to check that out and they found out that one of the control arms were bent... they are saying that the warranty doesn't cover that... is this true??

It depends on what caused the arm to be bent. If there is any evidence of something hitting the arm then I'm sure it would not be covered.

I agree...it depends on what bent the control arm. If it was an impact (curb, pot hole, etc..) then warranty probably would not cover it.

i think i hit a bump on the high way ... it looked like a minor bump but didn't feel like one....i've been driving it so carefully for the last 1 year... it's friggin hard to avoid the pot holes here in ny... people are always honkin at me when i go slow...

Control arms don't bent on their own. Something hepled them out. Not a concern for warranty.
I was just changing my oil on the lift at work and was suprised to notice that the front does not have lower control arms anymore (in comparison to my old E46), but instead just a couple lower links. I'm suprised mine are not bent yet. I had to replace a wheel and tire late last summer from a pothole.

Agreed. Control arms are not self destructive.

control arms can take a beating....ive never heard of one bending from a pothole. I have broken mine on the ohter hand from doing a 180 into a curb around 35 mph. I just dont believe they would bend from a pothole...
