Recommendation for Wheel Repair Shop in Denver
I didn't find any previous threads on this topic in the Rockies/Midwest forum, so please let me know if there is a wheel repair shop/person in the Denver area that you would recommend. Feel free to IM me if you prefer. Thanks.

Spec wheels has been great in the past. Awesome work and a nice warranty on top of it.

Great, thanks for the recommendations. I should have specified that I need the wheels refinished/painted. Does Spec do that type of work or just more serious repairs?

I did a lot of research for a place to get my bent wheel fixed a while back. I found trudesign wheels (out of business now) the only one that didn't need to heat the wheel to fix it. Remember, you'll lose some of the strengths of your wheel if you hear it up....

I called Spec and they gave me a quote to refinish my factory BMW wheels ($115-125/wheel). YMMV. They remove the tires as part of the process since they powder coat and then bake the wheels in an oven. They charge an additional $10/wheel to remount tires. Also said you have to drop off the wheels, with or without tires. They don't take the wheels off your car for you. Turnaround time was a few days, as of yesterday at least. Spec sounds like a winner. Thanks again for the suggestions.

I've also got a buddy who works for SevenK wheels and he can get you in touch with their guys if you're interested in additional quotes, etc.

At bumper doc we do complete refinish/repair for scuffed and minor blemishes. No bending or welding services though just paint and sanding.
I need a bent lip straightened maybe I'll try spec this time |

Spec just quoted me $110 -$125 a wheel. For repair and powder coating. Is it odd that there is no difference in price if I just need 1 wheel repaired and the others powder coated?
I know they do good work but I have a hard time understanding that wheel repair + powder coat is the same price as just a powder coat. I was thinking of picking up a used set of VMR 702's. The price is great but the finish is not the color I want. at $125 a wheel for powder coating I might as well buy them new, that defeats the purpose of buying used for a great price. Other than telling me to stop being cheap and just buy new....any other shops around that can handle repair and powder coat? |
