DME repairs
Just felt it was necessary to let people know from the SJ/CNJ/Philly about this. My DME took a dump last weekend, and most people know that on the MSD80, the Mosfets are prone to failure, and if you have my luck, it'll be at 60+ mph WOT on a highway when suddenly you're running on 3 cylinders.
Dealers and Indy's (Mine included) typically just say replace the DME.. Which isn't typically required, but they also don't have the ability to sit there and replace Mosfets on them either. I posted about mine failing in the main N54 section, and had Bmwfixerguy reach out to me who got my DME fixed in a day. Car runs like a top, and he didn't give me any hassle during the process at all. I've had plenty of "oh, it's shipping this week, etc etc." from others on this forum with various things, and handing off an expensive computer like the DME isn't something I'd usually just hand over, but his credentials are top notch, and I was up and running the day after I gave him the computer. Hopefully if the same heart dropping BS of an experience like DME failure happens to anyone local, they can have a solid option for when they can't fix it themselves, or if they don't trust sending it away to a random person.
