Maybe Lexus, needs to put the transmission guys on bodywork and take careful measurements to connect the mufflers with the tailpipes....

I call that BS. Audi's DSG shifts in 30ms, not 200ms. And the ZF in the 335 shifts (according to BMW) in 100ms. SMG in 60ms.

Tbone, this should make you happy.

I posted this for you in the ISF base price thread. BTW, this was posted already in the M3 vs. forum.

As one of its outstanding design characteristics, the transversally installed DSG gearbox possesses two wet clutches (greater thermal capacity and better regulation than dry clutches), the pressure of which is hydraulically regulated. The so-called clutch 1 (C1) serves the odd gears (plus reverse) and clutch 2 (C2), the even ones. Therefore, for all intents and purposes, one must speak of two parallel gearboxes in one. A consequence of this elaborate clutch management: during a shift, there is no more interruption of tractive power, typical of an automated manual transmission. Consequently an incomparably dynamic and, at the same time, smooth shift feeling with a high degree of comfort is conveyed The high efficiency of this gearbox is very close to that of the classic manual gearbox. Together with Mechatronic, an intelligent hydraulic and electronic gearbox control, the two wet clutches with two input and output shafts are responsible. This interconnection enables the next higher gear permanently to be engaged and ready for activation. And like lightning, to be sure. For example: While the car is being driving in third gear, fourth gear is already engaged, but is not yet active. As soon as the ideal shift point is reached, the clutch for third gear opens while the other closes, activating fourth gear. The opening and closing of the clutches coincide in the process, producing the smooth shift already mentioned above. The entire shift process is completed in the especially short time of 3 to 4 hundredths of a second.

Here's a surprise: the new track-tuned high-performance version of the F430 won't be called the Challenge Stradale like many thought, but instead will be known as the Scuderia, Italian for stable. That's stable like a home for a powerful prancing horse, not like the state of mind that is constantly eluding Lindsay Lohan.

The rest of the car is what you would expect from an enthusiast version of a Ferrari. The engineers concentrated on lowering the weight and increasing the power from the standard F430. The Scuderia weighs in at 2755 pounds -- a savings of 220 pounds -- while producing an extra 27 horsepower over the F430 for a total of 510 ponies. This works out to a power-to-weight ratio of one horsepower to 5.4 pounds. Bravissimo!

Ferrari didn't forget about the rest of the car, outfitting it with the latest technology from the company's F1 program. An update to the transmission brings shift times down to a lightning-quick 60 milliseconds, while the traction and stability systems also get a race-inspired update.

Why, they did'nt make any mistakes. If anything they advertised the VW's DSG to be faster at 0.25 secs. Worldcarfans report says between 0.30 to 0.40. And they just compared it to the Enzo which is older and slower at 0.15 instead of the newer F430 Scuderia at 0.06.

0.25 seconds is 250 milliseconds. The quoted 3-4 hundredths of a second in Worldcarfans for DSG is 0.03-4 seconds which is much less than the 0.25 on the Lexus chart.
