playing MP3...
i've searched for this, but havent found a problem like mine. i made a MP3 cd the other day....went to put it in the car..the car never read it..so i went and put in a aftermarket deck that reads mp3 also and it worked fine..i tried also couple other decks and cd player at home..it all works except in the car...is there a reason why my car doesnt read it? do i have to create it differently? i'm i doing something wrong?

I used nero and the instructions here:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...1&page=5&pp=22 Also, It's probably a good idea to use silver media and burn it at a much lower speed than your drive and media are rated at. This will give the reader a much better chance of reading it whilst on the move. |

I ordered my car today and at the dealership I asked about MP3 compatability with the Logic7 and they said it was compatable but when I tried my MP3 disc on an i-drive equipped Logic7 system it didn't read either. On a non Logic7 system it worked fine. He said it had something to do with Logic7 and I would just have to use my iPod. I'm still looking into this...

I've had missing tracks, unplayable songs, and unrecognized discs when using cheap media with my iDrive/Logic7 equipped 330i. These same discs could be read in portable cd players and on the PC. you really need to burn at slow speeds, and use quality media.
3s-a-charm, make sure they have the most recent software version loaded into your car (CIP 20 or greater). MP3s will play then. The line about the aux-in is crap. There's a thread in these forums with all the information you need to tell the dealer, including a TSB number. You can find it here. |

Cool! My wife and I didn't know that and were quite jaded that the MP3 function wouldn't work on the i-drive cars. We mulled it over for a while at the dealership and decided that we would live without the MP3 capability in order to get the Sport/Premium/Nav combo. Glad we did now as I will be able to listen to my MP3 CD's!! Thanks E90Post.
