Lux H8 V5 turning off after 10-15 sec

What's up guys, just installed my lux h8 v5 on my 2007 E92 335i after chewing up my hands for about an hour. Problem is, when i start the car with headlights on auto, after 10-15 seconds, both angel eyes shut off simultaneously, in sync.

What's even weirder is when I start the car with headlights turned to parking lights only, they stay on for about a minute and turn off or sometimes don't turn off at all. Seems like they turn off quicker when projectors are on.

I ordered the pre 3/2007 bulbs since my production date is 2006.

Anyone else encounter anything like this? I've since contacted Lux and im waiting for a reply.

Strangely that's exactly the same behavior that I had when I bought Lux 160 for my March 2007 build. I had to return it for the V5 (pre March 2007 version) in order for it to work properly. perhaps you were shipped the incorrect version?

Turns out I was sent the bulbs for 3/2007 and newer E92's so Lux is gonna go ahead and do the swap for me, great customer service btw.

I was just about to respond to this as well but you beat me to it. Sorry again for the mix up.

Can you say why the pre 03/07s are different? Because of the FRM module?

I bet it's due to lower voltage set for the angel eyes. It's lower than the forward voltage drop of the LED array and doesn't allow the LED drivers to get enough voltage to maintain constant current.

If you were to code the FRM to raise voltage or replace the buck driver with a boost driver, it would work.

Can be resolved with coding of the voltage and the disabling the bulb check.

Can you share why the FRM is the issue then?
