Dash trim piece removal (Under climate control)
Does anyone know if this piece (see pic) is easily removable?
I'm considering removing it and gluing some magnets on the back to hold my phone in place to use a display for JB4 gauges. This isnt my car. Mine doesnt have the buttons. Its just completely blank. |

It's actually one single piece with the trim that surrounds the iDrive. You have to pull off the main dash trim with the vents, then pull off the climate panel and trim, then you'll be able to access and pull off that final trim piece.

Correct - that panel is really all (1) piece. The dividing line you see that makes it look like it's (2) is just molded in to the plastic

Not sure I'd place magnets so close to the iDrive. Just a consideration given all the electrics inside this box.

Thanks everyone, I'll check out realoem to get a better idea.
As far as the magnets, is the hard drive located in the center dash? Thats the only component I'm aware of that would be affected. |
