E90 M57 low coolant temp help
Greetings,
Hopefully someone can help! I was having low coolant temp readings (around 70c) so replaced both main and EGR stats with genuine BMW spares from cotswolds. Initially temps got up to mid 80's very quickly stabilising at 86c. However after a few days it's back to hovering around the 70c charge. I can get it up to low 80s around town but as soon as you hit the open road it's back to low 70's. Bad EGR stat already? Or something else? When I get a moment I'll take the EGR stat out and test it. |

So had the EGR stat out. Seems fine, plenty of resistance when blowing through it.
Cleaned the EGR valve too, wasn't too bad. Temp will get up to 90 when idling but fall pretty rapidly again when driving. I guess the main stat is bad unless anyone else has some ideas? Both stats were original BMW from Cotswolds. Done 250 miles ![]() Not a happy bunny. |
